LUFC Coventry v Leeds Head To Head

Vital Leeds looks at the head-to-head record between Coventry City and Leeds United at both Highfield Road and the Ricoh Arena over the years.

The two sides have met on 40 occasions with Coventry winning 14, Leeds 14 and 12 have been drawn.

The first ever meeting between the two came in a Second Division clash in the 1920/21 season when they shared the points in a 1-1 draw with Jack Lyon on target for Leeds.

The following season, Coventry recorded their first win with a 1-0 victory.

Leeds earned their first win the following season when two goals from Joe Richmond secured a 2-1 victory.

The two sides cannot be split on wins and it is rare that the same side wins two seasons in a row. You have to go back to the 1980/81 and 1981/82 season for the last time Coventry won two in a row.

Leeds are aiming to make it two in a row on Tuesday, for the first time since the 1974/75 and 1975/76 seasons.

Coventry enjoyed their biggest win during the 1980/81 season when they won 4-0.

Leeds biggest win came during the 1949/50 season when goals from Len Browning, Ray Iggleden and two goals from Harold Williams secured a 4-0 win.

The two sides have only ever met at the Ricoh Arena on three occasions since Coventry moved there in 2005.

Both sides have won one and there has been one draw.

When the two sides met last season, Leeds won 3-2 thanks to goals from Jonny Howson, Robert Snodgrass and a Max Gradel penalty.
