LUFC Redfearn - We did not deserve to lose

Leeds United caretaker manager Neil Redfearn feels the side did not deserve to lose after falling to a late goal at home against Brighton and Hove Albion at Elland Road.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Redfearn said, "I did not think we deserved to get beat. It was one of them games.

"I thought we huffed and puffed in the first half. They are a fair side, you can see that and they came organised it was difficult for us break them down.

"I thought we looked solid at the back and we did not look like we were going to concede.

"The second half, as the game went on, twenty minutes to go, we get back into the game but we look like there is a soft-centre to us. I can see why we have conceded the goals we have conceded in past games."

After a tight first half, the game sprang into life inside the final fifteen minutes.

Craig Mackail-Smith opened the scoring for the visitors with his first touch after coming off the bench.

Leeds were level within two minutes when Luciano Becchio headed home a Robert Snodgrass corner.

The game looked to be heading for a draw until Alan Navarro score a winner for the visitors deep into stoppage time.

Poor defending for the winner. Not one man is putting in a challenge and then it goes straight under Lonergan. Sam old defensive frailties.

Dont know who Sam is but maybe if you could get a younger defender who is less frail it would help.No problem for lee clark he would have you half a dozen defenders signed up before you could blink an eye.Problem solved.

Might never use any of them mind, but i think thats what he perceives as competition for places.Something he is very keen on.
