LUFC Redfearn - I have the experience for the job

Neil Redfearn believes he has more than enough experience to take over the vacant manager`s position at Elland Road.

Redfearn is currently in temporary charge of the Leeds side and started with a 3-0 win at Bristol City last week.

He has been assured by chairman Ken Bates that he will get at least the next three games to prove his credentials for the job.

Redfearn made over 1000th appearances in a career lasting almost 30 years and he assures the doubters that he has the experience and is high profile enough to take over the Elland Road hot seat if it was offered to him.

Speaking on LUTV, Redfearn said, "As a football person I would say I am experience and high profile. I am an experienced guy, I have been in the game 30 years, played at all levels, won promotion with four sides, played in FA Cup semi-finals, been the top scorer from midfield in the Premier League, so you don`t get much more experienced than that do you."

Redfearn will take charge of the next three games against Brighton and Hove Albion, Coventry City and Doncaster Rovers in the space of a week whilst the club consider their options.

The chairman, Ken Bates says that the next appointment will be massive for the club as he must be the manager to take the side back into the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Managing is a bit different to playing. Look how many really good coaches have been rubbish managers.

You don't have the experience in management. I can only see this as a sideways step if he gets the job.
