LUFC Settled family man required for Leeds job

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates says they must make sure they appoint the right manager for the right reasons.

Bates says it is as important that the successful applicant have a settled family life that must be prepared to get involved behind the scenes at the club.

Bates speaking on Yorkshire Radio said, "Leeds United are a big club and now have a first class stadium and big fan base. We are the only big city in the country with only one club so there are no divided loyalties. It is part of any would be managers ambitions to manage a big club and Leeds is that.

"It also brings a wealth of unwanted applications for the wrong reasons. We have to be careful. We do not want any instant miracle maker, I am sure the fans might think it is a good idea but you rarely find one.

"We want to find somebody who wants to come to Leeds for the right reasons. They will have to be in the right marital situation. Other clubs have had managers who have not lived in the town and the family have not moved up because the kids are at school. That is all well and good but it is no good to Leeds United.

"We need people who are settled in their private life`s and the wife is part of support and prepared to move and getting involved in the behind the scenes operation of the club."
