LUFC Leeds Fans View v Birmingham

Tiny T gives us his usual Leeds United fans view from the game at Elland Road.

Tiny witnessed the 4-1 home defeat to Birmingham with opposition striker Nikola Zigic scoring all four goals.

Lonergan 7
A couple of good saves, and stood no chance with any of the goals.

Thompson 5
He supported Snoddy down the right but allowed two crosses to be delivered that led to goals.

Lees 4
He could not get near Zigic and allowed him to get two easy headers.

O'Dea 3
Just goes to sleep, not at the races for most of the game.

White 6
One slip allowed the goal, up and down the left wing when we were flowing.

Snodgrass 6
Worked hard but well marshalled when in dangerous positions

Clayton 4
The game, even when we were on top seemed to pass him by.

Delph 7 Star man
Some of his cross-field balls were Premier League quality and he put in a vast amount of work in the middle of the park.

Townsend 6
Good first hour and he can cross with his right foot.

McCormack 6
Got the goal and then faded though the delivery was not what he wanted.

Becchio 6
He should have scored in the first half. He had one off the line and brought two good saves from Myhill in the second half. He just did not have any luck. He worked hard and dropped back to help in the middle.

Summary
The first hour was the best Leeds performance I've seen at Elland Road for a long time, bright inventive and closed the opposition down. Becchio was unlucky with a header and shot but should have scored with his third chance.

Birmingham equalised against the run of play with a soft goal. Second half continued much the same with Becchio bringing two good saves from Myhill and then the wheels came off and we conceded two quick goals and they saw the game out.

Baffling was that Zigic played on Thompson, a 'little and large` with neither of the centre halves had the gumption to change it, nor did the bench.

We are a very young side and with the players coming in we will get younger.

My view is that we have no money to spend hence why no-one came in during January permanently.

The only way forward in Grayson`s eyes is to bring back Bromby, Bruce and O'Brien to bring experience. We've been there and done that and it didn't work. He'll want to bring Naylor back next!

There were a lot of dissenting voices round me for Grayson to leave as he seems clueless when the going gets tough. There is nothing on the bench so we'll all have to lump it.

The marks could have been higher for some players but we let it go and the marks are for 90 minutes.

Looking forward, if we can stop the goals conceded and play 90 minutes like we did for the first hour we'll be ok.
