LUFC Grayson - We will stick with who we have

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson says the club may have to stick with the players they have at the club for the remainder of the season after a quiet day on transfer deadline day.

Leeds brought in just Adam Smith on loan for the remainder of the season from Tottenham Hotspur whilst young goalkeeper Alex Cairns was the only one leaving Elland Road, when he joined non-league Barrow on loan for a month.

Grayson is not sure whether he can afford to add to his squad when the loan window reopens next week and states that he will probably be working hard on the training pitch with the players already at the club.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, "I am not sure if we can bring in anymore players in. We have a budget that we have to stick too. The loan window reopens next week and we will have to see what we can do. It may be that we will have to stick with the players that we have already and work better on the training pitch.

"We have one or two players coming back from injury. We have Leigh Bromby and Alex Bruce back around the first team and Andy O`Brien is back in training, so we will probably just have to work with the players we already have here."

Leeds brought in five players during the January transfer window, with only two of these permanent signings.

Danny Pugh completed a move to Elland Road from Stoke City following his loan spell from Stoke City since September.

American international winger Robbie Rogers has signed an eighteen-month deal whilst Andros Townsend, Fabian Delph and Adam Smith all joined on loan.

The loan transfer window opens on the 7th February.

Last nights result only served to reinforce the feeling of dejection around elland road; another transfer window that raised the hopes, and though smith is good he is yet another loanee. My over-riding concern is where is all the money going to; especially in the light of jonny howsons transfer
