LUFC Rachubka returns to Elland Road

Goalkeeper Paul Rachubka has returned to Leeds United after coming to the end of his loan with League One side Tranmere Rovers.

The 30 year old joined Tranmere to regain his confidence after a traumatic spell in the Leeds goal that eventually saw him replaced at half time in the 5-0 home defeat by Blackpool, with Rachubka at fault for the three first half goals.

Rachubka who signed for Leeds on a two-year deal last summer spent two months with Tranmere with the Wirral club.

The keeper was brought in to replace regular number one goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams who has recently returned from hand injury and was due to play a reserve team game this evening against Manchester City, which has now been called off.

Rachubka made his last appearance in the 1-1 draw at Prenton Park against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

During his two months at Tranmere, he made ten appearances, keeping two clean sheets with the side picked up just six points from a possible thirty.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson could be looking to send Rachubka out on loan again with Andy Lonergan and Maik Taylor already at the club.
