Tiny T gives us his usual view of the player`s performance in the game at Elland Road.
This time, following the fortuitous 3-1 win over Ipswich Town.
Lonergan 5
A couple of decent stops, but Keepers should not be beaten at their near post. His distribution was slow and lacked direction.
Thompson 5
He struggled but stuck to his task. He was better in the second half.
Lees 5
He played ok and some timely stops. His distribution was weak
O'Dea 4
Struggled and looks short of ideas. He just lumps it when he gets it.
Pugh 4
Odd timely tackle and interception. He lacked cohesion with Townsend who was playing in front of him.
Snodgrass 5
If we were going to get going Snoddy was the man He was surrounded whenever he got the ball, stop him stop Leeds.
Clayton 4
He was nowhere to be seen in the first half, better second half showing. When the chance arises, he needs to move the ball faster.
Delph 4
Like the rest, he was woeful in the first half. He improved in the second.
Townsend 2
He offered little outlet and rightfully subbed.
McCormack 3
He may have scored the second but did little else.
Forssell 1
Offered the chance of a start and fluffed his lines, I have seen better from the Dray horses out of Tetley`s brewery.
Subs
White 4
Injected some pace and direction.
Becchio 3
A much-needed goal to boost his confidence.
Summary
A woeful 60 minutes by our so-called heroes. If it had not have been for the sending off it is doubtful we would have got anything out of the game.
On paper, the midfield looked good but was woeful, mark Snodgrass and were clueless.
The pace of the match was funeral march with little from both sides. I Doubt I have seen a worse team at Elland Road this season than Ipswich. It shows how awful we actually were.
Devoid of ideas from 1 to 11 and the manager was like his centre forward stood planted like a tree and hardly moved.
With nothing coming from the sidelines, or on the pitch the crowd were extremely bored with little cheer except for the now usual Bates out, which is growing in force as the season draws on.
Hardly likely to encourage the supporters to go out and renew season tickets and spend money over the counters and bars.
I went to the Sponge so could not tell how many were in the Pavilion but not many were coming out as I made my way to the ground.
As the growing voice calls for Bates to go, perhaps his manager should follow him as well. Eddie Gray said on the radio the chairman provides the funds but the manager chooses whom those funds are spent on.
Looking forward to a weekend break next week and then its Birmingham at Home, will we have more new faces?
