LUFC Grayson - Delph signing is a great deal

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson says it is a great deal after bringing back former favourite Fabian Delph from Aston Villa on loan.

Delph has signed for Leeds on an initial loan lasting until the Portsmouth game away on February 25th.

The 22 year old has struggled to break into the Villa side since arriving at Villa Park in 2009 from Leeds. He has made just 11 appearances this season and Grayson says it will give Fabian the chance of regular football.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, "This is a great deal for both parties. Fab will get some football and he is the calibre of footballer we have been looking to bring in here."

His initial loan will last for seven games as Leeds try to get back into the promotion shake up.

Leeds have lacked a strong tackling, box to box midfielder, ironically since Delph was sold and he will go straight into the squad for the game with Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Delph is the fourth player to sign for Leeds in the January transfer window. Danny Pugh completed his move from Premier League side Stoke City at the start of the month after three months on loan.

Winger Andros Townsend has signed from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season and American international winger Robbie Rogers will complete an 18-month deal next week, once the relevant paper work for his visa and international clearance has been completed.

I think with this signing we might revert to a 4-3-3. Clayton, Pugh and Delph in the middle with Townsend and Snoddy helping out McCormack in attack. I like the look of that side and we seem to be getting some stability at the back now.

he's a good player who needs to be playing regular football as he seems to have stagnated at Villa.
