'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Former favourite back at Elland Road

Leeds United have signed former midfielder Fabian Delph on loan from Aston Villa.

Delph has signed for Leeds on an initial deal lasting until February 25th and he goes straight into the squad for the game with Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The 22 year old left Leeds in the summer of 2009 to join Villa but he has struggled to hold down a regular starting place and he suffered a knee ligament injury in his first season ruling him out for eight months.

Delph made his debut for Leeds in 2007 but he really burst onto the scene at Elland Road during the 2008/09 season.

He netted six times for the club in fifty-one appearances and he won the clubs young player of the year award. He also picked up the goal of the season for his stunning individual goal at Brighton.

Villa have included a recall clause, which takes affect after 28 days.

Delph is one of the key areas we have been missing. Young lad who shouldn't take long to get totally upto match fitness. I think its a great signing and it looks like we might keep him for further as its an initial deal. Just hope Villa don't have a lot of injuries or he will be back with them in 28 days.
