LUFC Leeds January transfer rumours

We are now almost halfway through the January transfer window and the rumours linking Leeds United with a number of players continues.

This week the main talking point has been a move for Sean St Ledger who has been told by Leicester City that he can leave.

The Republic of Ireland international defender was reported earlier in the week to be on the verge of a move to fellow championship side Ipswich Town but has yet to materialise.

Sammy Clingan continues to do the rounds. The Coventry City midfielder was a target of Leeds in the summer and he is believed to be once again on the radar of Simon Grayson.

One of the more laughable links of the week is with former England international striker E-mule Heskey. The striker has a similar scoring ability of that of Billy Paynter and I do not think we have enough 'barn doors` at Thorp Arch for both of them.

A strong rumour this week is that former favourite Fabian Delph could be re-joining the club on loan from Aston Villa.

Rumours of players leaving Elland Road this week have been relatively quiet. Chairman Ken Bates said in the week that a deal had been done for one to leave only for it to be put on hold at the last minute after the club they were due to join failed to offload a player.

Leeds have added to their squad this week with Robbie 'Roy - Buck` Rogers signing from MLS side Columbus Crew after a short trial at the club.

Just over two weeks to go until the window closes. Don`t worry, Grayson has many 'irons in the fire` and he is at 'advanced stages of negotiations` with one or two players.

If you see or hear of anything then feel free to post them in the comments box at the bottom of this article.
