LUFC Fabian Delph on his way back to Elland Road?

Former Leeds United legend Peter Lorimer has revealed that Leeds are at advanced stages of negotiations to bring Fabian Delph back to Elland Road on loan.

Leeds fans present at the on the road evening with the Surrey Whites have been posting via twitter the news that Delph is close to a return after leaving for Aston Villa in August 2009.

Lorimer revealed the news whilst addressing the fans at the popular Leeds event.

Delph made 15 appearances in his first season with the Premier League club before suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in training, which saw out for eight months.

He returned in December 2010 but he made just eight appearances last season.

This season he has eleven appearances, his last coming against Liverpool on December 17th.

Delph would be a welcome acquisition in midfield with club captain Jonny Howson ruled out until around March with a knee injury.

The news would certainly go against boss Simon Grayson`s policy of doing everything behind closed doors until the deal is complete.
