LUFC Grayson on transfer speculation

LUFC Grayson on transfer speculation

Leeds United boss refused to comment on transfer speculation when talking on Yorkshire Radio but he says he is hoping to conclude one or two deals quickly.

Leeds, as always are linked with a whole host of players during the transfer window and Grayson laughed off rumours of a move for former England striker Emile Heskey.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, "We have been linked with many players, so I am not going to comment on any speculation at all. We have probably been linked with half a dozen players over the last few days.

"Somebody rang me and told me Emile Heskey was supposed to be coming on loan last night, he will do well seeing as he is injured."

Grayson says he has his targets and he refused to rule out a move for Leicester City and Republic of Ireland defender Sean St Ledger, when asked if the rumours linking him with a move to Elland Road were true.

"We are going to be linked with many players. We know who we have targeted and hopefully we can conclude one or two quickly.
"I am not going to say yes or no,"
continued Grayson.

Since the window opened on January 1st, Leeds have already brought in winger Andros Townsend from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.

Danny Pugh has completed a two and a half year deal from Stoke City after spending three months on loan at Elland Road.

Leeds have also signed USA international winger Robbie Rogers from MLS Side Columbus Crew and they are still waiting for international clearance before he can make his Leeds debut.

Grayson said there would also be a number of players leaving Elland Road this month.

Alex McCarthy and Andy Keogh returned to their parent clubs after loans at Elland Road and young midfielder Will Hatfield was released from his contract by Leeds this week.

The transfer window closes on Tuesday January 31st.

Look out on Vital Leeds on Saturday for all the latest players to have been linked with a move to Elland Road, as I do my weekly review of transfer rumours.
