Vital Leeds looks back at the head-to-head record between Arsenal and Leeds at Arsenal.
The two sides have met at Arsenal on fifty-nine occasions in all competitions over the years, Arsenal have won thirty, Leeds fourteen and fifteen have been drawn.
Leeds last win at Arsenal came during the 2002/03 season when a superb strike by Mark Viduka in the last minute earned them a 3-2 win.
They have met on fourteen previous occasions at Arsenal in the FA Cup with Arsenal winning five, Leeds two and seven draws.
Leeds were the last side to beat Arsenal in a FA Cup tie at Arsenal when they won a fourth round tie 1-0 at Highbury in 1997 thanks to a goal from Rod Wallace, a run stretching back 35 games.
The two clubs have been involved in some classic FA Cup encounters over the years.
Before penalty shootouts were introduced, it took three games to separate them during the 1982/83 season when Arsenal eventually went through 2-1 at Highbury.
In 1990/91, they went one game further when Arsenal eventually went through 2-1 at Elland Road after three draws between the two clubs.
The two sides famously met in the centenary final in 1972 when a solitary Allan Clarke goal was enough to win the cup for the one and only time for Leeds.
The two sides met at the same stage last season. In the original game at the Emirates, a Robert Snodgrass penalty gave Leeds the lead on 54 minutes.
Leeds came within a whisker of another cup upset following on from their win at Manchester United twelve months earlier, only for Cesc Fabregas to equalise for the Gunners in the dying minutes of the game, also from the penalty spot.
In the replay at Elland Road Arsenal made no mistake second time around. Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna fired the Gunners into a two-goal lead before Bradley Johnson replied for Leeds with a superb long-range effort, all before half time.
Robin Van Persie clinched the tie for Arsenal with just fourteen minutes remaining.
