LUFC Grayson to wield the axe

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson says one or two of his players will not play for the club again after losing 4-1 to Barnsley at Oakwell.

The vast majority of players have shown no passion, fight or desire since the emotionally charged victory over Millwall at the start of the month and it seems today`s performance was the final straw for a disgruntled Grayson.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, "I have said to the players, one or two have probably played their last football match for Leeds United and that is not a thing I take lightly.

"We have got to dust ourselves down for Monday now but that was totally unacceptable today."

Grayson did make four changes today from the side that lost at Derby on Boxing Day.

Grayson made two enforced changes with Paul Connolly and Ramon Nunez coming in for the injured Tom Lees and Robert Snodgrass.

He also gave a rare start to Mika Vayrynen and recalled Andy Keogh as Adam Clayton and Luciano Becchio dropped to the bench.

Leeds now face Burnley at Elland Road on Monday and the home form had been Grayson`s biggest worry before the festive period.

What is usually a hard ground for sides to come and take anything from, Leeds have won just one of their last six on home soil.

They have been beaten by Barnsley, Reading and Blackpool since the start of November, with Blackpool inflicting Leeds heaviest home defeat since1980 when they beat Leeds 5-0.

There will be a very nervous crowd on Monday and the players can expect a subdued atmosphere and a quick reaction if things start to go wrong.

I Think Pugh, Becchio, Keogh and Brown will be saying goodbye

Exactly who is he going to start. We supposedly have the biggest squad in this division according to Bates but you look at who didn't play on Saturday and there is very little option. No wonder the players are comfortable.
