LUFC Tranmere wanting to keep Rachubka

Tranmere Rovers boss Les Parry is keen to keep Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Rachubka for another month when his loan deal expires.

Rachubka is due to return to Elland Road after spending a month at Prenton Park where he has made three appearances.

Tranmere number one goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams is still recovering from a broken hand and Parry would like to keep Rachubka whilst Fon Williams continues his recovery.

Speaking on Tranmere Rovers Player, Parry said, "I think we'll be approaching Leeds and asking if we can keep hold of Paul for another month.'

Rachubka was sent out on loan after a horrendous run in the Leeds goal following an injury to regular number one Andy Lonergan.

In his championship debut against Coventry City, it was his error in the dying seconds that allowed Coventry to snatch a draw.

Rachubka continued to be at fault in his next three games before suffering a horrendous evening at Elland Road against his former club Blackpool.

The 30 year old was at fault for the visitor`s first three goals and Leeds boss Simon Grayson took the unprecedented step of substituting Rachubka in favour of an 18-year-old rookie goalkeeper.

Lonergan is now back in goal for Leeds and they have England under 21 goalkeeper Alex McCarthy on loan and experienced Maik Taylor as back up.
