LUFC Bruce returns to Leeds

Leeds United have recalled Alex Bruce from his loan spell with Huddersfield Town.

Leeds have used a 24-hour recall clause included in the deal when Bruce joined Huddersfield on loan in November.

With two games in three days, Leeds boss Simon Grayson has recalled Bruce to boost his numbers.

Tom Lees is a doubt after suffering a head injury in the defeat at Derby County on Boxing Day.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, "We had a 24 hour recall clause for Alex and we feel we want him back here for the weekend.

"The two games are a quick turnaround for us and bringing Alex back it strengthens our options and ensures we have a versatile player who has played some games recently who can step straight in if needed."

Bruce has not featured for Leeds since the 3-0 defeat at Swansea City towards the end of February.

The loan move to Huddersfield was with the option of the deal becoming permanent in January, with Bruce also expresses his desire to stay with the League One side.

Bruce made three appearances for the Terriers during his stay at the Galpharm Stadium.

Suprised at this one thought the deal was already done for him to join Town permanently

Very strange unless we have a few injuries Grayson isn't talking about. We also have Bromby as back up and he isn't even getting on the bench. Thought he was going to be one of the first to be shown the door in January. I think we have worse defenders than him at the club.
