'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Snodgrass - We will stand up and be counted

Leeds United midfielder Robert Snodgrass says the players are ready to stand up and be counted has they bid to get their promotion aspirations back on track.

Leeds have won just one game in four this month and have failed to score in their last two games.

The run has seen them slip from a comfortable position in the play-off places to eighth in the championship.

Snodgrass says the players are ready to dig deep and get out of their current poor run.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post , Snodgrass said, "Things don`t get given to you. Football is a man`s game and you have to stand up and be counted and I`m sure we will.

"You don`t get anything easily in football. All the way growing up and being a professional, things can get harder as a season goes on and this is when you need to dig deep as a footballer and help your team-mates out when they are in trouble.

"When you look back at the end of the season and you have been promoted, you realise that it`s a team game.

"It`s sweeter when you realise you did everything you possibly could to get the team promoted. Every single bit counts; it`s a squad game at the end of the day and I`ve said that so many times."

The defeat at Derby on Boxing Day was Leeds first defeat on the road since losing to Birmingham towards the end of October.

Snodgrass is the only player to score for Leeds in their last four games.

Other teams have done their homework on Snodgrass putting two players on him and quickly closing him down. He needs the players around him to get more involved.

With Snoddy being the only midfielder producing its more difficult for him as the supply line is poor and slow
