LUFC Bates - Future of club in good hands

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates says the future of the club is in good hands with a good management team and thriving academy.

Bates says they are building for the long-term future of the club with the ultimate aim to see Leeds return to the Premier League.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Bates said, "We have a good management team, a good scouting team and the academy is coming through nicely.

"We have four young players who have been blooded into the first team this year. We have Aidy White, Charlie Taylor, Zac Thompson and Tom Lees, that`s not a bad crop since we changed the layout of the academy so the future is in good hands.

"Like every household we struggle to pay our bills and pay our way but we are doing it and we are doing it carefully and successfully.

"We have a big football club. We tried to live the dream and we finished on a knife-edge doing it with other people`s money.

"Now we are building the dream step by step brick by brick working together. We will get there and we are doing it. We will get there.

"There are a lot of football clubs would like to be in our position, even one or two who are above us in this league.

"As we go into 2012, we are quietly confident. The setbacks we have had at the moment are disappointing. It has not put us off of our ultimate course which is to get back into the Premier League."
