LUFC Thames Valley Whites Fans View v Derby

Steve Griffin the secretary of the Thames Valley Whites Leeds United supporters club gives us his first fans view.

Steve was amongst the 4,000 Leeds fans that made the trip to Derby County on Boxing Day.

The Match 6
Good first half that was fairly entertaining and the defence seemed to look capable, however Tom Lees was really struggling with Ward. Fast paced half with a few chances from either side.

Second half Leeds just appeared to have no ideas on how to break down Derby. Once the goal went in Leeds perked up but still could not break down Derby. Derby deserved the points.

Lonergan 6
Made some good saves in the first half, was probably unlucky conceding the goal as he made a good first save. Overall he played well and I can see him keeping his place.

Tom Lees 5
Was being raped by Ward on the right, eventually went off injured.

Kisnorbo 6
Good effort by him and it was probably one of his better games this season.

O`Dea 5
Was fairly sloppy in his play, nothing special today

White 6
Average display, he kept losing the ball or giving it away.

Pugh 6
A good first half making some important tackles but he disappeared in the second half.

Brown 6
He made a crunching tackle during first half that started the dirty Leeds chorus off, however he gave a better display than recent weeks.

Clayton 5
Was fairly busy in the middle of the park but produced very little in game play

Snodgrass 7
Worked hard all game but again always had 2 or 3 players on him every time he collected the ball in their half. He looked like he really cared about this game and seemed gutted at 90 minutes.

Becchio 4
Was really off his game today and looked like the Christmas Turkey. He spent far too long looking for free kicks, which this referee was never going to give. Was booked in the first half and really should have come off at half time. Very disappointing.

McCormack 6
Worked hard all game but had no real chances.

Substitutes
Connolly 4

Poor, however he did better against Ward than Lees but only just. He still got skinned most of the time. He did not do his claim for the first team any justice.

Nunez 5
Tried to make an impact on the game and put some fairly decent crosses in with exception of one, which turned into a shot and nearly caught the Keeper out.

Keogh 5
Looked busy and ran but really at the end his contribution was also poor.

Grayson 3
His inability to have anything on the bench to turn the match is frustrating.

Leeds Fans 3
They were shocking today, lacked passion, commitment and let Derby fans rule the terrace banter. They offered zilch to the game in the second half.

Thanks for your views Steve.

I have noticed it with the fans more at Elland Road. We were very quiet at Watford but with the dross we are serving up at the minute it is really hard to get motivated into cheering us on. I wonder how many will turn out for the Burnley game on Monday.
