LUFC McCarthy not in hunt for McCormack

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy says that he has not had any interest in signing Leeds United striker Ross McCormack in the January transfer window.

McCormack has been linked with a move to a number of the Premier League clubs when the January transfer window after netting eleven times already this season.

Wolves were one club named to be interested in the Scotland international but McCarthy says he has not shown any interest yet.

Speaking in Yorkshire Evening Post, McCarthy said, "I haven`t had any interest in McCormack. That doesn`t mean to say I won`t go back and sign him but there`s been none at all."

McCormack has found his form this season for Leeds after struggling in his first season following his signing from Cardiff City.

The 25 year old had to wait until the penultimate game of last season for his first goal in Leeds colours when he netted the winner against Burnley.

He also scored the winner the following week in the final game of the season at champions Queens Park Rangers to finish with two goals in twenty-one appearances.

McCormack brought his end of season form into this season and he netted ten times in the first thirteen games of the season.

His goals have dried up more recently and he has netted just once since in the 2-1 defeat to Barnsley at the end of November.

McCormack has found himself out of favour recently and he started his first game in four in the defeat to Reading at the weekend.
