LUFC Bates - Manager will be judged on results

LUFC Bates - Manager will be judged on results

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates says manager Simon Grayson will be judged on his results.

Despite two very poor performances in the last two games, Leeds are still in play off places in the championship and Bates states that Grayson will be judged on the teams results.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Bates said, "He stands and falls by his results. Obviously if he does not deliver, he knows that his job is on the line and that applies to all managers."

Grayson celebrates three years in charge of the club this week, in which time he has helped the club win promotion to the championship and finish seventh in their first season back in the second tier of English football.

Bates has already stated that the club must win promotion this season and although he feels the club should be better placed in the championship, he feels they are in a good position going into the New Year. "We are going into 2012 in good shape. There are eighteen clubs and sets of supporters and directors, who would like to be where we are and there are only five sides, who we would like to be in their places, so I think that is a good sign.
"I am sure at the moment it is just a blip, players assure me it is just a blip, not just the management staff. The players have said we know we have been bad the last few matches and we can do better than that and they will.
"I will rely on them. I think we all should do that and support them in every way possible," continued Bates.

Leeds are in sixth place in the championship and occupy the final play off place, two points ahead of the chasing pack.

West Ham are currently occupying the second automatic promotion place and sit eight points ahead of Leeds, as the sides are one game short of the halfway point of the season.
