Leeds United defender Tom Lees says it will be good to see goalkeeper Andy Lonergan back in goal when Reading come to Elland Road on Saturday.
Lonergan will return to the side with on loan goalkeeper Alex McCarthy ineligible against his parent club.
Lees has been an almost ever present in the Leeds side this season and he played in front of Lonergan before the keeper suffered a broken finger at Doncaster in October.
The young Leeds defender has been impressed by his replacement Alex McCarthy since his arrival from Reading on loan but he feels the defence were just beginning to work well with Lonergan before his injury.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Lees said,"Alex has done really well and his save on Saturday was vital.
"We missed Andy loads when he first got injured, so it will be really good to see him back.
Leeds had managed back-to-back clean sheets against Portsmouth and Doncaster before Lonergan suffered a broken finger in the closing stages at Doncaster.
"I think we were just starting to form a good back five when he got injured, so it will be good to have him back and he is a good voice to have behind the back four. He is commanding and when the ball is put into the box he is not afraid to come out and catch it," Lees continued.
The clean sheets were Leeds first of the season. Leeds then failed to keep a clean sheet in their next five games with Paul Rachubka in goal. Rachubka suffered a harrowing experience in the Leeds goal being guilty of a number of high profile errors, which culminated in him being substituted at half time after being at fault for Blackpool`s first three goals at Elland Road.
The second against Blackpool proved costly for Lees who was shown a straight red card after handling a goal bound effort.
Since McCarthy joined on loan, Leeds have once again started to look much more solid in defence, keeping three clean sheets in his six games.
