LUFC Keogh wants to stay with Leeds

Leeds United on loan striker Andy Keogh is hoping to make his loan stay at Elland Road into a permanent move in January.

Keogh has been on loan at Leeds since August from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

His loan is due to expire on January 2nd and Keogh hopes that he can stay at Elland Road and help the side earn promotion from the Championship.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post , Keogh said, "I love the club and in an ideal world, I`d like to stay.

"It`s up to the club and my agent will start speaking to them soon and to Wolves to see what the story is and we`ll just go from there. I`ll listen to what they have got to say.

"Leeds is a great club. It`s the first club I signed for as a youngster and holds a place in my heart and I`m really enjoying my time here and it`s a great dressing room.

"We`ve also got a really good chance of going up."

The 25 year old has come full circle, having started his career at Leeds after coming through the clubs academy system.

Then manager Kevin Blackwell eventually sold Keogh, to Scunthorpe United in 2005.

He moved to Wolves in January 2007 and he made a big contribution in helping Wolves win promotion to the Premier League in 2009.

In their first season in the Premier League, Keogh suffered a ligament injury that ruled him out for a long period.

He struggled last season the get into the Wolves first team and spent time out on loan at Cardiff City and Bristol City.

Keogh has got himself back into the Republic of Ireland squad since joining Leeds on loan and with the Euro 2012 finals next summer, Keogh will be wanting regular first team football if he is to stand a chance of making the trip to Poland and Ukraine.

The striker has been a regular in the side since signing and he has made 21 appearances.
