LUFC Meet the branch: Whitby Whites

LUFC Meet the branch: Whitby Whites

Vital Leeds United continue their feature on the RMC branches that run Leeds fans up and down the country.

Today Graeme Smith from the Whitby Whites gives us their typical match day following Leeds United:

We have always had good support in the town of Whitby.
We provide coaches to all matches at Elland Road and also various away games whenever possible .

We have about 120 members in the Whitby Whites RMC, made up of roughly 25 season ticket holders, 40 club members and about 55 social members.
These numbers fluctuate from season to season, but the total is pretty much always the same.

The committee is made up of:
Dave Gale - Chairman, Frazer Seaton - Secretary and myself Graeme Smith - Treasurer.

On a normal Saturday home game we leave Whitby at 11.30am and pickup in Sleights / Pickering and anywhere else on the way if requested .

The prices for travel are £12 for Adults and £5 for Juniors ( Under 18 ) .

We get to Elland Road at about 1.30pm and the majority head in to the Pavilion for a Lager or two . After the game we head off back home and arrive at about 6.45pm.

I would like to add that other people have run the club over the years and if it was not for their hard work setting everything up , we would not be where we are now .
You probably know or have heard of John Hartley (Whitby John ) who somehow ran the club previously on his own. Credit to him I don't know how he did it, top bloke.
