LUFC Meet the branch: Isle of Man Whites

Vital Leeds United continue their feature on the RMC branches that run Leeds fans up and down the country and in today`s case across land, sea and sky as well.

Today Ean Costain from the Isle of Man whites gives us their typical match day following Leeds United:

Isle Of Man whites were formed in the late nineties when a group who travelled to games and met in the pub for Leeds games, decided to formalise it and they became a supporters club and this evolved into an RMC.

We travel to as many games as we can both home and away and have some sort of representation at every game although numbers can vary from 2 to 40 per match!

The club itself has around 40-50 members. With regards to pick up points, I guess it is a bit different to other RMC's in that we don't have any as such. We tend to meet at either the Ferry Port or Airport dependant on how we are travelling.

The fact travel tends to involve planes, trains and automobiles it isn't cheap with early and late season matches coming in at £80 and matches during the winter months somewhat more expensive with flights involved.

Our typical day would involve meeting at the ferry terminal at 6.30am to board the ferry at 7.00am. We then arrive in Liverpool around 10.30am before boarding a bus to Elland Road.
We arrive around noon and tend to go to the shop then Billy's for a pre match beer. After the match, it is straight back on the coach back up to Liverpool for the ferry at 7.15pm and arrive back on the Isle of Man at about 10.30pm.

If you are interested in travelling with the Isle of Man whites, you can contact Ean for more details at ean.costain@manx.net

Tomorrow I will be featuring the Whitby Whites.

If you are interested in your RMC being featured, then please contact me via the email link for Vital Leeds.
