LUFC Meet the branch - Thames Valley Whites

LUFC Meet the branch - Thames Valley Whites

Vital Leeds United is to do a new feature where they catch up with the RMC supporters clubs around the world.

Leeds now have 61 regional supporters clubs who transport Leeds supporters up and down the country to home and away games.

The first branch to come under the spotlight is the Thames Valley Whites who are sponsored by Vital Leeds.

The Thames Valley whites is one of the fastest growing Leeds United supporters club in the South of England, with over 200 members since its formation in April 2009.

Coaches travel to all games home and away and anything from a 16 seat minibus to a 51 seat coach is used depending on demand.

The branch has pick up points at Basingstoke, Reading, Didcot, Abingdon, Oxford, Bicester and Banbury and will consider other pick up points on request.

A typical Saturday 3pm home game will see the day start at 8am at Reading station, with regular pick up points through Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

There is usually a short stop at Leicester Forest services both going and returning.

Usual arrival time at Elland Road is around 1pm with the coach parking at the side of the Pavilion.

The last supporters are usually dropped off at around 10pm on the return trip.

The bus has a good mix of mature and adolescent supporters and that does not always depend on age.

The back of the bus is reserved for the 'boys pen` where high testosterone levels try to wind up who they call the 'OAP`S` on the rest of the coach.

On all trips to Elland Road a competition is run where you can guess the time of the first Leeds goalscorer. It is £1 a go and if it is not won then it rolls over to the next home game. Out of the proceeds a donation to the Thames Valley whites chose charity, 'Help for Heroes` is made.

To travel with the Thames Valley Whites to home games it will cost you £25 with a similar amount usually charged for away games.
