LUFC Fans view v Barnsley

Tiny T gives us his fans view from the weekend game with Barnsley.

McCarthy 5

Could do little with the first goal, but I thought he had a Rachubka moment for the second. His distribution was also poor, though that could have been down to the wind.

Connolly 5
He needs to up his game. He did not seem to get involved.

Lees 6
Solid enough, but like the rest no zip.

Kisnorbo 5
Not his best game of late and his passing was off. He will be worried now O'Dea is available.

White 6
Tried to overlap with Sam but never seemed to get the return ball, booked for diving but I thought it was a Penalty, though I was sat in the Kop.

Snodgrass 7 Star man
Another hard working performance, nearly got one when hitting the post.

Clayton 4
The game seemed to pass him by, not the player who started the season.

Howson 6
Tried to make up for the off form Clayton but it was difficult.

Sam 4
When he was given the chance to have a go at the fullback he always checked back. Missed White overlapping and his slip led to the first goal.

Becchio 4
He needs more game time, just not happening for him yet.

McCormack 4
Before he scored he was being subbed, says it all.

Substitutes
Keogh 3

He couldn't lift the side.

Nunez 4 When given the licence up front, he was out left under White's feet. Odd decent corner.

Pugh- 3
Same as Keogh

Summary
A poor performance. A slip by the Keeper saw us two 2 down, before McCormack pulled one back.
Grayson has problems especially as Clayton seems totally off form. Sam did not grasp his chance, and the front two whoever plays, are not getting the service. Perhaps it is time for a shake up and some rollicking`s to get them motivated.

The Referee and his Linesmen had stinkers, how can anyone miss three blatant handballs and after denying White a penalty, he had his hand in his pocket for his card quicker than my wife can get my wallet.
Looking forward away to Forest and as we seem to be better away from home here's hoping for 3 points.

I would agree with your assessment. Snoddy was the only one looking like doing anything. I thought Howson probably had his best game of the season, but I couldn't work out whether he was playing decent or everyone else around him were so bad he looked good. O'Dea must come back in for Kisnorbo on Tuesday.

The word seems to be that O'Dea will come back but for Lees not Kisnorbo. I think this would be a step backwards and a repeat of what happened with Naylor who was poor for game after game until he was out injured and Grayson had a reason to drop him. I dont think Sam has the ability to be anything more than mediocre at this level and we need a left sided attacking player with pace. Maybe time to let White move forward and put Pugh at LB.
