LUFC Snodgrass - The fans pull us through

Leeds United midfielder Robert Snodgrass believes the fans play a crucial part in helping Leeds to victory.

Snodgrass was talking after last weekend`s game with Burnley when almost 4,000 Leeds fans made the trip to Burnley, despite it being a lunch time kick off and live on the TV.

Leeds somehow came from behind to win thanks to two goals from Snodgrass despite playing poorly and the midfielder says it`s the fans will to win that spurs the players on to victory.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Post, Snodgrass said, "The fans had pulled us through, basically, because we hadn`t been at our best. It shows just what a special club this is. The fans demand 110 per cent but if you give that then they will stick with you.
"They will us on. I always think about the day we won promotion from League One. We were right up against it at home to Bristol Rovers, down to 10 men and a goal down. But the fans dragged us through. Jonny Howson got the equaliser and then I just knew the second goal would come."

Leeds will be hoping for their highest home gate of the season today when they entertain Barnsley at Elland Road.

Crowds are down almost 20% on last season at Elland Road with only the first home game of the season against Middlesbrough exceeding 25,000.
