LUFC Taylor ready to fight for place

New signing Maik Taylor is ready to fight for a first team place.

The highly experienced goalkeeper signed for Leeds United on a short term deal until January and he is wanting to earn a starting place at Elland Road.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Taylor said, "It will be difficult to get in and play regular, but that is what I aim to do. The manager will make the decisions, and if I can help out, do what I can, and put pressure on the others then that`s good.
"I am not here to make up the numbers, I want to do well."

Taylor is in direct competition at the moment from on loan goalkeeper Alex McCarthy who is on loan from Reading until December 10th.

Andy Lonergan is still recovering from a broken finger sustained at Doncaster Rovers in October.

Paul Rachubka was loaned out yesterday. The goalkeeper, who suffered a nightmare against Blackpool recently, has signed for Tranmere Rovers until January.
