LUFC Grayson - Rachubka needs loan spell

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is looking to send goalkeeper Paul Rachubka out on loan before next week`s loan deadline.

Rachubka hasn`t featured for Leeds since a calamitous display against Blackpool that saw him substituted at half time.

Grayson does not expect to call upon Rachubka in the near future, with Alex McCarthy arriving on loan from Reading and experienced goalkeeper Maik Taylor on the verge of signing for the club.

The Leeds boss is hoping to send Rachubka out on loan, so that the keeper can rebuild his confidence after a tough spell in goal for Leeds.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Grayson said, "It might still be difficult to have Paul in or around my 16.

It would be good for him to get out on loan, but what I will say is that he`s trained extremely hard since the Blackpool game and he`s looking to get back playing football quickly."

Rachubka arrived at Elland Road in the summer on a two year deal having previously worked for Grayson during their time together at Blackpool.

He started the season as number two to Andy Lonergan but he got his chance in October after Lonergan suffered a broken finger, ruling him out for around six weeks.

In his championship debut, he cost Leeds two points in the dying seconds when he made a hash of an elementary save to hand Coventry an equaliser.

More mistakes followed in the next three games before suffering a nightmare in the game with Blackpool.

Rachubka was at fault for all three first half goals scored by Blackpool, which saw Grayson take the unusual step of replacing his experienced goalkeeper with an unproven 18 year old who was making his debut.

Who in there right minds would want him after the horror show

Rachubka needs moving on. Can you honestly ever see him having the confidence to play in front of the Leeds fans again. One little mistake would be magnified. His days are over at Elland Road.
