LUFC Ireland boss tipping White for bright future

Republic of Ireland under 21 manager Noel King is tipping Leeds United defender Aidan White to become a full international in the future.

King has liked what he has from the youngster and he believes he has the potential to play at the highest level.

White has now played five times for Ireland since making his international debut in August.

The 20 year old scored his first goal in the green of Ireland on Monday, when he netted in the Euro 2013 qualifier against Liechtenstein.

White is enjoying a successful season for both club and country. He has been an almost ever present for Leeds this season and he has been earning rave reviews on the back of his performances in the left back position.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, King said, "It`s not for me to say whether he will or should play for the senior side - that would be down to the national coach to decide - but he`s definitely got the potential to get there in the future.

He`s been a revelation in the short time he`s played for us and he`s got all the requirements in terms of ability and talent. So why can`t he do it?

You`ve seen plenty of players over the years who`ve excelled for the Under-21s and never quite made the next step so nothing`s certain but Aidan`s a player with the desire to move mountains. I see huge potential in him."

White will be hoping to continue his form this season and hopefully force his way into the thoughts of senior manager Giovanni Trapattoni.

Ireland qualified for the Euro 2012 finals in the week with a play-off win over Estonia.

White will be hoping to join fellow Leeds players Darren O`Dea and Andy Keogh in the squad for next year`s finals.

I keep saying it but White has been fantastic for us this season. Didn't think he was ever a defender and would be more suited to playing further forward.

Between him and Lees for young player of the year and at the moment for me he's just in front

Well done Aide but hope we can keep him. Its ok having up and coming players but as soon as interest starts than the leeches like Spurs come in and they are off-loaded for minimal price
