LUFC White off the mark for Ireland

Aidan White scored his first goal in international colours has he helped Republic of Ireland record a win in their European under 21 qualifier against Liechtenstein on Monday night.

White scored Ireland`s second goal in the 2-0 win in Sligo.

The 20 year old was also involved in the first goal when James Collins was fouled inside the area as he challenged for a cross from White.

Robbie Brady converted the penalty to put Ireland ahead inside fifteen minutes.

White then doubled the lead shortly before half time, when Brady teed him up following a good run by the Hull City youngster.

The defender has played all five of Irelands games this season since making his debut in August.

Ireland are in third place in-group 7, three points behind Italy and Turkey who head the group.

They are now without a game until June when they will host Italy.

White is still waiting for his first competitive goal in Leeds colours. He did manage to score four times for Oldham Athletic last season, whilst on loan with the League One side.

Well done Aidy, would be nice to see him let fly for Leeds when he goes on one of his runs rather than looking for an option. Have a go lad.

Brilliant, him and Clayton have been like two new signings this season.
