LUFC Tricky tie for Leeds in cup

Leeds United will face Ipswich Town in the FA Youth Cup third round.

Twice winners, Leeds will travel to Ipswich for the game on Saturday 17th December.

Leeds twice won the tournament during the 1990`s. The defeated Manchester United over two legs in 1993 and won it again in 1997, in an era that saw the emergence of players like Paul Robinson, Jonathan Woodgate, Stephen McPhail, Ian Harte, Harry Kewell and Alan Smith.

Ipswich also have a good tradition in the competition having won it on three occasions, the most recent in 2005.

Leeds bowed out at the fifth round stage last season, when Aston Villa defeated them 2-0.

The whites currently have seven players with first team experience this season, who have come through the clubs academy system.
The third round draw sees the introduction of teams from the top two divisions.
