LUFC Ferguson blocks Kuszczak move

Leeds United had a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak turned down by manager Alex Ferguson.

Leeds made the move for the out of favour goalkeeper after Paul Rachubka suffered a horrendous night in the Leeds goal on Wednesday night.

Rachubka was at fault for all three first half goals and manager Simon Grayson had no choice but to substitute him at half time.

Grayson indicated after the game that he would probably move into the loan market with usual number one Andy Lonergan still injured, leaving 18-year-old Alex Cairns as the only fit senior goalkeeper at the club.

The Polish international goalkeeper says Leeds came in for the shot stopper but it was blocked by Ferguson who refused to allow him to join Leeds. Speaking on Onet, Kuszczak said, 'My loan to Leeds was not possible because Alex Ferguson has blocked it.
'I could only go to Sheffield United, or to Doncaster Rovers.'

Leeds resolved their goalkeeping crisis when they signed England under 21 international Alex McCarthy from Reading on Friday.

McCarthy will stay with Leeds until December 10th and he will make his debut in the game at Leicester City this Sunday.

Then you wonder why there is a hatred between fans when the manager acts this way. I don't know if us or Liverpool is his most detested team. How can this man be called Sir, I'm sure HRH is having second thoughts, he is an utter thug.

Lucky escape for Leeds in my opinion. Not much better than Rachubka

Think the blocked move may have more to do with the League cup game a few weeks ago as Ferguson wasn't happy with the hostile atmosphere his pre-madonnas received. He has let players come here in the past on loan - Liam Miller for example
