LUFC Grayson - We took a drubbing

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson admitted his side took a drubbing at the hands of Blackpool on Wednesday night.

Leeds beaten 5-0 by Blackpool, suffered their heaviest home defeat since 1980 when Arsenal beat Leeds 5-0 at Elland Road.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, "We suffered a real drubbing. It is difficult to take. We will re-group and do what we have to do. It won`t affect us because we have shown we are a good team and one result won`t change that."

It was definitely a night to forget for Leeds as Paul Rachubka suffered a horrendous night in the Leeds goal. Rachubka was at fault for the first three goals, which saw Grayson replace the player (I cannot call him goalkeeper) at half time.

Leeds were down to ten men inside half hour, when Tom Lees became the fifth player this season to be sent off for Leeds for a deliberate handball.

Blackpool had come into the game with just two wins from their previous eight games but they never looked like a side short on confidence, as they looked much the better side, before Rachubka started the Christmas Panto season early.

The game could have been different had Patrick Kisnorbo taken the two chances that were presented to him inside the opening ten minutes.

After this though, it was a game to try to forget quickly as Leeds were overrun by Blackpool.
