LUFC Former loan player extends Arsenal contract

Former Leeds United loan player Sanchez Watt has extended his contract with Arsenal.

The 20-year-old enjoyed two separate loan spells with Leeds. He joined the club at the end of the 2009/10 season, making six appearances and he helped the club win promotion from League One.

Simon Grayson signed the player on a season long loan last season but injuries limited him to 26 appearances, with most of them coming of the substitute`s bench.

Watt netted just the one goal with Leeds during his time at Elland Road in the 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United in January.

The youngster impressed for Leeds, in their two games against his parent club, in the FA Cup third round last season.

Leeds were rumoured in the summer to be making a move to sign the player for a third time, but nothing ever came of the rumours.

Watt has made just three appearances for Arsenal during his time at the Emirates and he scored on his debut in a Carling Cup win over West Brom in September 2009.

He has been in good form for the Arsenal reserves this season, netting five times in six games. His form earned him a call up to the first team squad for the Carling Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town, where he was an unused substitute.

I'd have him back

Seems to be doing well for the reserves at Arsenal but at 20 he's not really getting close to their first team. Whenever he just seemed to be getting going in the Leeds team he got injured.
