LUFC In the news top flight referee to take charge
Premier League referee Chris Foy will be the man in charge when Leeds United travel to Birmingham City on Wednesday night.
The Merseyside official has taken charge of 7 games so far this season, showing 19 yellow cards (2.71 per game) and 4 reds.
His figures were dramatically increased after officiating the Queens Park Rangers and Chelsea game on Sunday, where he issued 9 yellow cards and 2 reds.
Last season he took control of 34 games, showing 89 yellow cards (2.61 per game) and 4 reds.
The last time he took charge of Birmingham was towards the end of last season when they were beaten 2-1 at Newcastle United in a game where Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell was shown a red card.
His last game in charge of Leeds was also last season when he sent off Nottingham Forest player Chris Cohen in a 4-1 Leeds win.
In his only other game in charge of Leeds last season, they also won that, 2-1 at Middlesbrough.
Foy was the referee in charge of January 3rd 2010 when Leeds United won 1-0 at Manchester United.
