LUFC Nunez signs long-term contract

Ramon Nunez has signed a new deal with Leeds United keeping him with the club until the summer of 2015.

Leeds have also taken the option of an extra year with the Honduran international.

The 25 year old finally got his chance in the Leeds first team this season, netting five times ten appearances so far.

Nunez joined last season but he made just two substitute appearances before enjoying a successful loan spell with Scunthorpe United towards the end of last season, where he netted three times in eight appearances.

He signed a new deal in the summer keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 20123 but after a successful start to the season his form has been rewarded with a long-term deal.

Nunez becomes the second player in recent weeks to agree a new long-term deal at Elland Road after defender Tom Lees signed a new deal keeping him with the club until 2015 a few weeks ago.

This is great news to get him on such a long-term deal. I thought with him not playing recently he would be on his way to somewhere where a team would give him regular football. When he does get his chance lets hope he is played in his natural position. He was a waste of time on the left wing. Get him in just behind the forwards and he will do plenty of damage.

Yea great! I thought he might have not got offered a new contract! When he wasn't even on the bench for the Portsmouth game...And if he's played behind the strikers I'm sure he'll score plenty!...I think Grayson knew that there would be plenty of clubs, that wouldn't mind having him, and tied him down with a decent contract!''...

He's not even getting on the bench at the moment. I just can't see where he fits into the way Grayson is setting the side up at the moment.

Like most on here I don't see where he fits in, but we have been playing him out of position, when McCormack gets injured or loses form perhaps he'll play off the front man
