It took Ben May's own goal deep into stoppage time to steal the glory, but in-form Leeds secured their third successive win.

Hardly a way to rubber-stamp playoff credentials, but in the case of Millwall ... at the Den ... I'm sure all Leeds fans will sleep sound at night.

Gary Kelly swung over a corner in the second minute of time added on and May, on as a second-half substitute for Bruce Dyer, directed the ball beyond debutant goalkeeper Colin Doyle at the near post.

Leeds hit the post twice in the first half and Doyle had minutes earlier denied Leeds substitute Jonathon Douglas with a superb save.

But Millwall were not without chances themselves, most notably Barry Hayles late in the second half when his venomous shot from inside the penalty area was brilliantly tipped over the crossbar by Neil Sullivan.
