LUFC Grayson - The win is all that matters

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was happy to see Leeds win without playing well, calling it a bad day at the office.

Leeds had to come from behind to claim all three points but it could have been worse if not for a couple of fine saves by Andy Lonergan when Leeds were 2-1 down.

Grayson said it made a change for Leeds to claim the points after playing poorly and not playing well and coming away with nothing.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, "I`m fed up of us coming in and saying we played well and got nothing out of the game.
Today wasn`t a good day at the office, I didn`t think we played well enough, we didn`t pass the ball well enough and we were exposed at times and didn`t keep the shape of the team.
"You can`t fault the player`s desire, attitude and spirit to keep going.
"In the morning it will say we won 3-2 and that`s all that matters."

Leeds took an early lead through Ross McCormack but were soon 2-1 behind.

Luciano Becchio came off the bench to draw Leeds level and McCormack scored his second of the afternoon to secure all three points for Leeds.

The win moves Leeds into the top half of the table.

Well siad Larry. Yes didn't play well but it makes a change we got a result. Still I am not confident about this season I said at the beginning our first win would be against Palace. I guess I was lucky as well.

We won't always get away with it. The Palace game was a must win and the comments are completely different now that we have secured three points. We would have been in the bottom three with a defeat. Defence and midfield need sorting (still). We can't keep relying on the goals, we need three goals to be sure of winning still. Grayson really needs to take a look at our defensive coaching. We seem to have turned good defenders into bad ones for the past four or five years. Something isn't right. Get Radebe in to train them.
