'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Gradel thanks fans

Departed winger Max Gradel thanked the fans and everyone at the club after leaving to join St Etienne earlier this week.

Gradel handed in a transfer request on Tuesday, as he wanted to return to his native France and the opportunity of European football.

The club and fans player of the year last year had the following message for all at the club following his departure.

"I want to thank all the Leeds United fans who loyally follow the team up and down the county as you have made my time at the club very special.
"I also want to thank Simon Grayson, my team-mates and everyone at the club for all your help and support and giving me the opportunity to play for this great club. I am sure that it will not be long before Leeds United return to the Premier League and I wish you every success in the future."

Gradel signed for the French top-flight team on a four-year deal for a reported 1.75 million after deductions.
