LUFC Leeds to start negotiations with Nunez

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates says the club are about to negotiate a new contract with Ramon Nunez.

The Honduras international signed a new one-year deal in the summer after coming to the end of his initial short-term contract at Elland Road.

Nunez finished last season with a successful loan period at Scunthorpe United where he netted three times in eight appearances.

The 25 year old made just two substitute appearances for Leeds last season but he has taken his chance this season.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Bates said, "Nunez has come from nowhere and we are just about to negotiate a new contract with him."

Nunez has netted five times so far this season in his three starts and looks the ideal replacement for the departed Max Gradel.

Always assumng he wants to sign a new contract. He was obviously an unhappy chappy at the end of the Ipswich game so lets hope he signs on the dotted line.

of course he'll sign... and at a fraction of the wages Gradel would have wanted, ok I know Ramon is not a direct replacement but still he is grounded and WANTS to play for UNITED!

I said the same a 3 year contract'' and after 2 seasons when he wants a pay rise he'll be shown the door...Just like Max who was forced out when he asked for what he was worth...I'm sure if we hadn't got Nunez Gradel would still'' be playing for us''...
