LUFC Leeds may appeal White red card

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is considering appealing against the red card give to Aidan White at Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The defender was shown a straight red card for a professional foul on Ipswich player Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

Leeds are considering appealing against the one-match suspension White will have to face once they have studied video footage of the incident.

Andy D`Urso decided on a straight red card after consultation with his assistant with the pair clearly missing the push on White in the lead up to the incident.

Grayson speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post said, "I would think we`d have a look at it.
"There`s no getting away from that fact that I`ve seen it and it`s a free-kick on Aidy White to start with.
"As him and Emmanuel-Thomas are running through, Emmanuel-Thomas has nudged him in the back and that`s why Aidy brought him down. That one decision changed everything because we weren`t in any danger of losing the game."

White will miss Leeds next game against Crystal Palace at home on September 10th if they decide against the appeal.

The young defender is Leeds third player already this season to be shown a red card following Max Gradel and Jonny Howson who were both sent off against Middlesbrough.

There is no point in appealing as the FA are like to increase the ban because its Leeds!

I watched the incident and White certainly wasn't at fault in fact he was fouled prior to clattering into the striker. We should get our 3 points back as well as we were the only team looking likely to win and at a canter. Disgraceful once again. I hope our luck balances out over the season as most managers suggest. But in reality we will continually be stroked by poor biased referees. I hope I don't get a ban for that comment.

It should be squashed but we know it wont be. D'Urso will never admit he got it wrong so without that you have no chance. He will be out for 3 games.

despite the red card Leeds should have enough about them to see out a game 1-0 up IMO that means spending some decent cash on some proven premiership defenders. how much of a difference would that make? being able to rely on the back five game in game out?

the challenge itself is 50/50 in terms of how a neutral (or refereeing panel) would see it and so Ipswich will be favoured being the attacking team. I would ebe amazed if this gets turned over...

Simon - trust me it's one. You can get 1,2 or 3 match bans for red cards depending on the severity of the incident.

Andy D`Urso needs to take a look at the footage of the incident & then surely he would see he got it WRONG. White was push & momentum forced the White to go down first. But like Dazza 1 says It's Leeds we're talking about.
