LUFC Grayson - We have got to do much better

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson admitted that his side must do much better after finally seeing off Bradford City in the Carling Cup.

Leeds finally saw off a spirited Bradford side 3-2 after twice trailing in the match.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Grayson said, "We knew that we were going to be in for a tough game tonight, we played ok in patches but we gave them too many opportunities.
"We showed a lot of character to come back after being 2-1 behind, but we know we have got to do much better."

Leeds went into the game under pressure after losing at the weekend at Southampton.

Ramon Nunez finally got his first start in a Leeds shirt and despite missing a simple chance in the first half was the Leeds hero with two second half strikes.

Ross McCormack scored his first goal of the season and he was full of confidence afterwards, forcing the Bradford keeper into a couple of good saves as Leeds looked for the comfort of a fourth goal.

Grayson will welcome back Max Gradel, Darren O`Dea and Robert Snodgrass from international duty for the weekend home game with Middlesbrough.

3 of the back 4 tonight are not fit. We had 4 defenders on the bench so what is Grayson messing about at. If these players aren't deemed good enough to play ahead of injured players then we have problems. Kisnorbo is unfit, you can clearly see it but he's got enough upstairs to get through games. Parker and O'Brien are well off the pace. I actually think the squad looks unfit, we need to look at pre season next year because we look under prepared. Stop messing about with one game in Norway or somewhere else. They would be better off spending a week training with the army. Nunez should replace Snodgrass who hasn't been the same player since February and was shocking at Southampton. [Edited by Dazza71]

Good call on the Nunez Snoddy change might give him a kick up the proverbial that he needs, and I totally agree we look unfit and not ready to start the season
