LUFC Gradel still waiting for a contract offer

Leeds United winger Max Gradel says he`s yet to be offered a new deal by Leeds despite going into the final year of his contract at Elland Road.

The Ivory Coast international and Leeds player of the year has been linked with a whole host of clubs during the summer including Premier League Fulham, Swansea City, Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic.

Clubs from Europe have also shown and interest with French Ligue 1 pair, Lille and Paris St Germain as well as German Bundesliga side SV Hamburg keen on his services.

Reports during the summer suggested that there was an obstacle with the wage demands of Gradel, with Leeds offering less than half of what he was looking for.

Now according to a quote from Gradel in the Daily Express, he claims that he`s yet to receive a new contract offer, ""I can`t sign a deal when there is no deal. I`ve been waiting for a contract but I haven`t been offered a deal yet.
"I`ve said I want to take this club back into the Premier League, but you can`t guarantee what`s going to happen," said Gradel.

Gradel netted eighteen times last season for Leeds as the club just missed out on a play off place in their first season back in the championship.

Leeds have already lost players like Jermaine Beckford, Neil Kilkenny and Bradley Johnson in the past two seasons, who have been allowed to run down their contracts and leave for free.

Could this be heading the same way or will Leeds decide to cash in on their star winger?

This is the first real sign of any unrest from Gradel over the summer. If it is true then what is going on at Elland Road? This willl push a lot of fans over the edge after a summer of broken promises of quality signings to push us for promotion. We are being overlooked by players who can get better deals elsewhere on a regular basis and once again we are going to be relying on players from the released list and bringing players in on loan. I'm sorry but it's becoming a joke!

Is this a joke? One of our best players'' who wants to sign a new contract, and he hasn't even been offered one...To me Bates hasn't been offered ridiculous money, yet...He wants to see how Gradel does this season, and if he does as well as last season, the asking price for Gradel will double...And when the clubs, that want Gradel hear, he hasn't been offered a contract will be back, with bigger offers...If this is the plan Max will be sold with three months left on his current contract...Hopefully I'm wrong''...The only way to let Bates know how the fans feel about this is from the terraces...

it makes no difference if he signs a contract or not the bottom line is we are the biggest club in the division and all we've done is weaken our side and brought in old players, ok they might have some experience but most of the other clubs have improved there squads especially leicester who had our goal keeper...just shows Bates & Grayson don't seem to have any ambition and i reckon we'll probably finish around mid-table if we're lucky with our squad.....Keep On Marching

At the end of last season he said he wanted to sign for longer why have we waited so flaming long
