LUFC Grayson not willing to risk injured players

Simon Grayson isn`t willing to take any chances with his squad this weekend the new season just a week away.

Leeds entertain Newcastle United at Elland Road on Sunday with a number of players still struggling with injury.

Davide Somma and Luciano Becchio will definitely miss the start of the season through injury.

Robert Snodgrass, Andy O`Brien and Ben Parker all stayed in England suffering with injuries whilst the rest of the squad flew out to Norway.

Speaking on the official website, Grayson said, "We`ll have a look and see where we are with the lads. If there are any doubt they won`t play on Sunday and it may be that we look to get a behind closed doors friendly next week to get them some game time."

Central defender O`Brien has yet to feature in pre season and he must be rated as extremely doubtful to be fit in time for the new season.

Midfielder Snodgrass hasn`t played since the game with Motherwell after suffering an ankle injury in training.

Left back, Parker suffered a knock in last weekends game with Sheffield Wednesday and after his horrendous run with injuries in the last two years wasn`t risked in Norway.
