LUFC Grayson confirms Becchio will miss start

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has confirmed that leading goalscorer Luciano Becchio will miss the start of the season.

Becchio had netted twenty times last season before a hamstring injury ended his season in the home game with Watford.

The Argentinian returned to pre season training but suffered a reoccurrence of the injury.

Luciano has had the operation and will miss the start of the season," Grayson confirmed on the official website.

The news comes as a blow to Leeds who have already lost fellow striker Davide Somma with a long-term cruciate knee ligament injury.
