LUFC Grayson spoke to Bowyer

Leeds United manager has admitted that the club came close to luring former player Lee Bowyer back to Elland Road.

Bowyer was out of contract in the summer after coming to the end of his contract at Birmingham City.

Grayson admits that talks took place between the club and Bowyer, speaking on the official website , Grayson said, "I spoke to Lee Bowyer about coming, but he went to Ipswich for family reasons and geographical reasons because it`s only an hour from London."

Bowyer was signed by Howard Wilkinson in 1996 and went on to make over 200 appearances for Leeds in a seven-year stint.
