LUFC Kisnorbo ready to pay back club

Patrick Kisnorbo is ready to put over a year on the sidelines out of his mind as he plans to pay the club back after standing by him.

Kisnorbo suffered an Achilles injury that required surgery in March 2010 against Millwall.

The injury not only forced him to miss the run in to Leeds promotion season but also the chance to represent Australia in the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

Despite missing the final two months of the season, Kisnorbo still picked up the clubs player of the season award.

He finally returned for a brief cameo at the end of the game in Leeds final game of last season at Queens Park Rangers.

The 30 year old was out of contract at the end of last season and was expected to have to prove his fitness during pre season to earn a new deal.

With fellow championship clubs showing an interest, Leeds boss Simon Grayson was quick to tie Kisnorbo to the club with the Australian signing a two-year deal earlier this week.

Kisnorbo is now ready to put his injury nightmare behind him and pay the club back for standing by him. Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Kisnorbo said, "My intention was always to stay here.
"That was the plan at the end of last season and I never thought differently.
"In a way I`ve got unfinished business at Leeds.
"My first season here was a good one but it feels like a long time ago now.
"I`d like to make more of a mark. I`m grateful for the way the club looked after me and I`m grateful that they`ve given me another two years. I`ll do what I can to pay them back."

The defender played 63 minutes of Leeds first pre season friendly at Falkirk on Wednesday night and he will once again gain more match practice in the game at Motherwell on Saturday.

Lets hope he can get back to something like the player we had during our promotion season. He was sorely missed when out.

I honestly can't see him being the player he was.
